• Volunteering with STOP is done during night hours only on Broward County FL beaches.
• It may involve walking or sitting on the beach for several hours.
• Your volunteer position would involve nest sitting of one to several nests per shift and periodically contacting a peritted volunteer with nest status updates.
• Physical contact of sea turtle hatchlings is conducted by permitted volunteers only.

For the safety of the turtles and our volunteers, we restrict access to this site until you have undergone the proper training in person by a senior member of our staff. We understand that you are eager to help but this protocol is necessary to stay within the guidlines of our permit. Please be patient and someone will contact you before the next training session.
