These are the success stories. Businesses and homes that have "seen the light" by turning them off...

Please let the Courtyard by Marriott know you appreciate their efforts to save hatchlings!

"The turning off of the sign was a test.  Our chief engineer is currently working with our sign company for a permanent solution for the bright white light.  As soon as I hear more I will pass along to you. "Brian Dombrowski - Front Office Manager

If a picture could speak a thousand words, it would still not say enough for the great job that emerald seas has done for the sea turtles and their guests. The atmosphere is more relaxing to the guests and they are no longer a hazard to the sea turtle nesting habitat on the beach. Now the guests may enjoy the experience of witnessing the sea turtle nesting season take place with hatchlings reaching the ocean and leave south Florida with fond memories of being part of a majestic nesting migration that has happened for 200,000,000 million years and counting. If more business owners were like the "owners of emerald seas" - then instead of rescuing the hatchlings and protecting the females - we could be celebrating another year of a successful population increase not a decline! Working with our marine turtle permit holder in a free consultation and resource assessments - they spent less to retrofit original light fixtures than the fines would have been and they reduced their power consumption from 75watts per bulb x 24 fixtures to 9 watts per bulb x 24 fixture. You do the math!!!They are saving some $green$ by going "green" for the planet and the sea turtles.
